National Agricultural, Foods and Tipping Group

Relevant to hauliers who operate tipping vehicles, and any other vehicle used to transport aggregates, agricultural or food products.

This Group looks after the interests of those hauliers who transport aggregates and goods of an agricultural or foods nature, as well as any other products that need to be carried in a tipper vehicle. This includes vegetables and corn from farm to depots, flour and chilled foods from depots to stores, and all food products for both humans and animals; fertilisers and pesticides are also carried.

The movement of forestry products, such as wood pulp, to mills and the transportation of scrap metal and building materials, such as sand, gravel and aggregates, are also covered by the Group.

The Group's primary objective is to provide help and advice to Members who need it. Any problem that cannot be overcome at Regional level would be forwarded to the Group's Committee which meets three times a year, and which is also responsible for agreeing responses to the DfT, DVLA, VOSA and other bodies that would affect the work or activities undertaken by Group Members.

The Group Secretary also represents the Group at regular meetings with the H&SE, UKASTA, NFU and other associations as necessary. Contact Steve Biddle on 01932 841515 or e-mail: s.biddle@rha.net.
